Meet Betty Vance

I'm Betty, and I've spent my entire life covered in a light dusting of flour. I started Betty's Recipes because I wanted to preserve the comforting, classic dishes that my own grandmother taught me to make. After years of running a small local bakery, I realized my true passion wasn't just baking for people, but teaching them how to bake for themselves. I traded my commercial kitchen for my home kitchen to focus on recipes that actually work for everyday people.

My Culinary Philosophy

No Fancy Equipment: I believe you shouldn't need a commercial stand mixer to make a great cake. I focus on accessible techniques.
Triple-Tested Perfection: I test every single dessert recipe in my own oven multiple times. If the cook time or texture isn't exactly right, I go back to the drawing board.

My Background & Expertise

I learned the fundamentals of cooking at my mother's apron strings, but I spent over 15 years refining those skills professionally. When I became a mother myself, I saw how hard it was to balance a busy schedule with the desire to make homemade treats.
