Terms of Use

Last updated: October 28, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") describe the rules for using bettysrecipes.com (the "Site"), operated by Betty's Recipes ("we", "us", "our"). The Site offers recipes for desserts, dinner, lunch and breakfast, together with the ability to rate and comment on recipes and to contact us.

Please read these Terms before you use the Site. They are short and written to be understood, and they work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By visiting or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Site. These Terms apply to everyone who visits, reads, comments on or otherwise interacts with the Site.

2. Use of Content and Copyright

The recipes, text, images, layout and other original material on the Site belong to Betty's Recipes or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.

What you may do

  • Read, print and cook from our recipes for your own personal, non-commercial use.
  • Share a recipe by linking to its page on bettysrecipes.com.
  • Share a short excerpt, such as a single photo or a sentence or two of description, as long as it is clearly credited and links back to the original recipe page.

What you may not do

  • Copy, republish or redistribute full recipes, articles or images on another website, app, newsletter or social profile.
  • Use our content for any commercial purpose, including selling it, including it in paid products, or using it to promote a business, without our written permission.
  • Remove copyright or attribution notices from the material.
  • Copy the Site's pages onto another server or present them as your own work.

If you believe that material on the Site infringes your copyright, please tell us through the Contact Us page. Include a description of the work, the page where you found the material on our Site, and how we can reach you, and we will review your message.

3. User Submissions

The Site lets visitors submit information in two ways: a ratings and comments form on recipes, and a contact form. This section covers both.

Ratings and comments

When you rate or comment on a recipe, you provide a name and the text you write. Please keep your contributions relevant, honest and respectful. By submitting a comment, you confirm that you wrote it or have the right to share it, and you allow us to display it on the Site alongside the recipe.

We may edit, decline to publish or remove any comment, for example if it:

  • is abusive, discriminatory, threatening or harassing;
  • contains spam, advertising or links unrelated to the recipe;
  • includes personal information about you or someone else;
  • breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights; or
  • is not related to the recipe or the Site.

Comments express the views of the people who write them, not ours. Please do not post personal details such as your address or phone number in a public comment.

Contact messages

The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. We use this information only to reply to you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your message.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site:

  • in any way that violates applicable law or regulation;
  • to send spam, chain letters or unsolicited promotional material through the comment or contact forms;
  • to impersonate Betty's Recipes or any other person or organization;
  • to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers or its security features, or to disrupt their normal operation;
  • to run automated tools that scrape the Site at a volume that burdens it; or
  • in any other way that harms the Site or other visitors.

5. Recipe and Nutrition Disclaimer

Our recipes are developed and edited to give you clear steps, realistic times and temperatures, ingredient substitutions and food-safety notes. Cooking still depends on many things we cannot control, so please read the following carefully.

Results vary

Cooking and baking times, textures and flavors depend on your oven, cookware, ingredient brands, altitude, kitchen temperature and technique. Treat the times in a recipe as a guide and use your own judgement, adjusting as you cook. Substitutions may change the result.

Food safety and doneness

You are responsible for preparing food safely. Wash your hands and surfaces, keep raw and cooked foods separate, use fresh ingredients, and refrigerate leftovers promptly. Use a food thermometer to check that meat, poultry, fish and egg dishes are cooked through.

As a general guide, the USDA recommends an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for poultry and 160°F (71°C) for ground beef; for other foods, consult current guidance from the USDA or your local food-safety authority. Visual cues alone are not a reliable way to confirm that food is safe to eat.

Allergens and dietary needs

Many ingredients are common allergens, including nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish. Always read the labels of every ingredient you use, since products and their manufacturing practices change. Labels such as "gluten free" or "vegetarian" on a recipe are a general guide and depend on the specific products you choose; please verify them against your own needs.

If you or someone you cook for has a food allergy or intolerance, check each ingredient yourself before serving.

Nutrition information

Any nutrition values on the Site are estimates. They vary with the brands and amounts you use, the size of your portions and the way you prepare the dish, so please treat them as approximations only.

Not medical or dietary advice

The content on this Site is for general informational purposes. It is not medical, nutritional or dietary advice and does not replace guidance from a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified professional. If you have a medical condition, follow a therapeutic diet or are pregnant, speak with a qualified professional before changing what you eat.

6. Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Site may link to other websites, including our social profile on Pinterest, and may display advertising provided by third parties. We do not own or control those websites or advertisements, and we are not responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices. Linking to or showing a third-party site does not mean we endorse it. Please review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

If you buy or sign up for something through a third party, your agreement is with that party, not with us.

The Site also uses Cloudflare for content delivery and security, which may set technical cookies. For details on the information involved, see our Privacy Policy.

7. No Warranties

We work to keep the Site accurate and available, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every recipe, time, quantity or piece of information is free of mistakes. If you notice an error in a recipe, please let us know through the Contact Us page.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Betty's Recipes and its owners, authors, contributors and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or connected to:

  • your use of, or inability to use, the Site;
  • preparing, serving or eating any dish based on a recipe on the Site, including illness, allergic reaction, injury or property damage;
  • reliance on nutrition estimates, substitutions or time and temperature guidance;
  • comments or content posted by other visitors or third parties; or
  • unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when the Site's features change or the law requires it. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms, so please check this page occasionally.

10. Contact

If you have a question about these Terms, a copyright concern or a correction to suggest, please reach us through the Contact Us page. To learn more about the Site and who writes for it, visit the About Us page.
