Ingredients:

  • 1 lb frozen edamame (in pods), thawed
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the thawed edamame pods under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Note: Wet pods will cause the sauce to splatter and steam.
  2. Place a skillet over medium high heat and add the neutral oil.
  3. Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant and golden.
  4. Increase heat to high and stir in the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar.
  5. Immediately add the edamame pods to the pan.
  6. Toss the pods vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the sauce has reduced into a thick, glossy coating.
  7. Ensure the pods are heated through and the sauce is sticking to the shells.
  8. Remove from heat and transfer the pods to a serving bowl.
  9. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
