Ingredients:
- 1 lb frozen edamame (in pods)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced
Instructions:
- Thaw the edamame under cold running water for 2 minutes and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Heat the neutral oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 30–60 seconds until fragrant and pale gold.
- Increase heat to high and add the edamame. Toss for 2 minutes to sear.
- Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir constantly for 3–5 minutes until the sauce bubbles and reduces into a thick, mahogany-colored syrup that coats the pods.
- Remove from heat immediately and toss in the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
