Ingredients:

  • 12 oz (340g) frozen shelled edamame
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) soy sauce
  • 3 cloves (9g) garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp (5g) fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp (5ml) honey
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp (5g) toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 stalk (10g) green onion, thinly sliced

Instructions:

  1. Mince your garlic and grate the ginger. Set these aside with your measured soy sauce and honey.
  2. Heat the sesame oil in your skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir constantly for about 60 seconds until the garlic smells nutty and becomes fragrant, but not brown.
  3. Toss in the frozen edamame and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until the beans are thawed and heated through.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes. Increase heat to high and stir constantly for 1–2 minutes until the sauce has thickened into a glossy coating and the beans are a deep mahogany-colored gold.
  5. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onion.
