Ingredients:

  • 12 oz frozen edamame in pods
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Steam the frozen edamame according to package instructions. This is usually 5 minutes via steamer or 3 minutes in the microwave.
  2. Drain the beans thoroughly. Note: Pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure the sauce sticks.
  3. Place a skillet over medium low heat.
  4. Add the toasted sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and pale golden.
  5. Increase heat to medium.
  6. Add the steamed edamame, soy sauce, and honey to the pan.
  7. Toss vigorously with tongs for 2 minutes until the liquid reduces into a mahogany colored glaze that coats every pod.
  8. Remove from heat immediately.
  9. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and red pepper flakes.
  10. Finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt before serving.
