Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) Frozen edamame pods
  • 1 tbsp (18g) Coarse sea salt
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Soy sauce
  • 1 clove (3g) Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) Chili flakes

Instructions:

  1. Fill a pot with 4 cups (950ml) of water and add the coarse salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil.
  2. Carefully add the frozen edamame pods to the boiling water and boil for 3 to 5 minutes until bright green and slightly resistant when pressed.
  3. Drain the pods in a colander and rinse under cold running water for 30 seconds to stop the cooking process.
  4. Pat the pods thoroughly dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  5. For the glaze, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, toasted sesame oil, and chili flakes in a mixing bowl. Toss the dried pods in the mixture until evenly coated.
  6. Garnish with flaky sea salt and an optional drizzle of toasted sesame oil before serving.
