Ingredients:

  • 16 oz (450g) frozen shelled edamame
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) avocado oil
  • ½ tsp (3g) garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp (1.5g) sea salt
  • 1 tbsp (8g) nutritional yeast

Instructions:

  1. Rinse frozen edamame briefly under cold water in a colander.
  2. Spread the beans onto a kitchen towel and pat them firmly until no visible water remains. Note: This is the most important step for the crunch.
  3. Place the dried beans in a mixing bowl.
  4. Drizzle with 1 tbsp avocado oil and toss to coat.
  5. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, sea salt, and nutritional yeast.
  6. Toss again until every bean has a thin, matte coating.
  7. Spread the coated beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  8. Air fry at 400°F (204°C) for 15–17 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even browning.
  9. Remove the beans once they look mahogany colored and feel firm.
  10. Let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes. Note: The residual heat finishes the crisping process.
