Ingredients:
- 16 oz (450g) frozen shelled edamame
- 1 tbsp (15ml) avocado oil
- ½ tsp (3g) garlic powder
- ¼ tsp (1.5g) sea salt
- 1 tbsp (8g) nutritional yeast
Instructions:
- Rinse frozen edamame briefly under cold water in a colander.
- Spread the beans onto a kitchen towel and pat them firmly until no visible water remains. Note: This is the most important step for the crunch.
- Place the dried beans in a mixing bowl.
- Drizzle with 1 tbsp avocado oil and toss to coat.
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder, sea salt, and nutritional yeast.
- Toss again until every bean has a thin, matte coating.
- Spread the coated beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 400°F (204°C) for 15–17 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure even browning.
- Remove the beans once they look mahogany colored and feel firm.
- Let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes. Note: The residual heat finishes the crisping process.
