Ingredients:

  • 1 lb cod fillets, cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 0.5 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Pat the cod and shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season evenly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add cod chunks; sear for 2–3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms. Remove fish to a plate.
  3. Add shrimp to the same pan; sear for 1 minute per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside with the cod.
  4. Lower heat to medium. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter, then sauté shallots until translucent. Stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer. Whisk in parmesan cheese until smooth and thickened.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
  7. Return the cod and shrimp, along with any accumulated juices, to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the seafood and simmer for 1 minute to reheat.
