Ingredients:
- 1 lb cod fillets, cut into 2-inch chunks
- 0.5 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, finely diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 0.5 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Pat the cod and shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season evenly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add cod chunks; sear for 2–3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms. Remove fish to a plate.
- Add shrimp to the same pan; sear for 1 minute per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside with the cod.
- Lower heat to medium. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter, then sauté shallots until translucent. Stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer. Whisk in parmesan cheese until smooth and thickened.
- Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
- Return the cod and shrimp, along with any accumulated juices, to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the seafood and simmer for 1 minute to reheat.
